Simple past de verb to be (+ – ?)
El pasado simple del verbo to be es was y were. Utilice was y were para hablar de cosas que empezaron y terminaron en el pasado. Ejemplo: I was five years old. The people in Colombia were very friendly.
Cuando estamos platicando, escribiendo emails o cartas a amigos, usamos contracciones: wasn’t = was not, weren’t = were not.
Simple Past con Regular Verbs
Use el pasado simple para hablar de cosas que iniciaron y terminaron en el pasado. Ejemplo: I studied Chinese last year. (I don’t study Chinese now.) We lived in Turkey for three years.
Simple Past con Irregular Verbs
Es común encontrar verbos irregulares en el pasado simple, podemos encontrar una lista de verbos irregulares al final de esta sección.
Simple past con regular e irregular verbs negatives –
Para sentencias negativas es lo mismo para verbos regulares e irregulares.
Use didn’t + infinitivo. Ejemplo: I didn’t work. (regular) no usar I didn’t worked. We didn’t eat. (Irregular) no usar We didn’t ate.
Para preguntas usar Did + subject + infinitivo. Ejemplo: Did you like it? no usar Did you liked it?
Al usar questions word ( palabras para preguntas) como what, where, when, what itme, who, why or how en pasado seguimos la siguiente formula: qw +did + subject + infinitive. Ejemplos: When did you go? How did you travel? no usar When did you went? How did you traveled?
